Just as the internet transformed numerous industries, AI is now poised to do the same and is at a similar inflection point. STEALTH is a venture studio founded by Ali Sina in 2017. Our portfolio companies utilize AI technology and applications to improve human existence and help solve planetary-scale problems in areas where humanity is failing and there is no obvious solution today. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Material Science Engineering Intern to research, test and design products for the material sciences startups in our portfolio. This individual must be an enthusiastic and creative intern to assist the technical staff with materials processing development, characterization and execution of mechanical tests.
What You Will Be Doing:
Assist staff with the manufacture and characterization of composite and resin bonded structures
Fabricate laminates using materials such as graphite, epoxy and cyanate ester prepreg resin materials
Investigate mechanical properties of composite laminates and apply/develop techniques to characterize final cure state of materials
Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners
Applies engineering standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks
Responsible for all aspects of design and analysis of automated test equipment, including but not limited to: structural components, high pressure gas/fluid systems, thermal control systems, instrumentation/electronics, and software
What You Must Bring:
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must work well in a team environment
Possess organizational, time management and project management skills
Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need
Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing aBachelor's, degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent presentation skills and ability to write doctorate-level research reports for publication in reputable journals
Knowledge of project management
Ability to work within a team and follow the instructions of senior faculty
